This trophy was donated to the 12 Metre Class by the late Senator Edward (Ted) M. Kennedy in 2009. It is fashioned from pieces of wood from each of the six Traditional 12s built for the New York Yacht Club’s defense of the America’s Cup from 1958- 1964: Columbia (US-16), Weatherly (US-17), Easterner (US-18), Nefertiti (US-19), Constellation (US-20) and American Eagle (US-21). It is awarded at the 12 Metre World Championship to the owner of the winning yacht in Division C ~ Traditional

Vintage Division: NJK 160 Jubilee Trophy
In 2021, this trophy was donated by Henrik Andersin, owner of Blue Marlin (FIN-1) and 2021 12mR Worlds Chairman. The gilded Sheffield-made silver cup was originally awarded for Point-to-Point equestrian races in the United Kingdom. The NJK 160 Jubilee Trophy will be first awarded at the 2021 12mR World Championship to recognize the winning yacht in Division D ~ Vintage. (Prior to 2021 Vintage Division World Champions were awarded the Tiedemann Trophy, see below for winners list)
The Nyländska Jaktklubben serves as Trustee and Guardian of this perpetual trophy. It will claim pride of place at the winner’s home yacht club until the subsequent 12mR Vintage World Championship is held. Learn more
2021: Helsinki, RI – Vim (US-15)
Antique Division: Heatherbell Trophy
This trophy was donated to the Nyländska Jaktklubben (NJK) in Helsinki, Finland by the Krogius Family to recognize World Champions in the Division E ~ Antique.
The unique silver chalice now bearing her name was first awarded in 1911 to NJK Commodore Ernst Krogius (1865-1955) then owner of the winning Heatherbell. At the NJK Clubhouse, the trophy is displayed along with a “double-portrait” of Heatherbell. The painting depicts Commodore Krogius at her helm with the gaff-rigger also seen sailing on the horizon.

Vintage Division: Tiedemann Trophy
This trophy was donated to the 12 Metre Class by the late Robert (Bob) Tiedemann, it is an original winch from the 12mR yacht Gleam (US-11). From 2001-2019 it was awarded at the 12 Metre World Championship to the owner of the winning yacht in Division D ~ Vintage.
