Built in 1938 according to the International Third Rule.

HISTORY:

1938 – 1947: Walter Rau – name: Anita – home port: Mecklenburg and Warnemunde

Built for the margarine manufacturer Walter Rau, construction number 3241 was one of 3 twelves built by Abeking & Rasmussen between 1938-1939; she was sister ship of Inga.  The hull was tabasco mahogany on steel frames. Intended for racing, no engine was installed. After WWII, her interior was completely rebuilt by Abeking & Rasmussen.

1948 -1952: ?

1951-1953: Ownership transfered to a Mr. Paulsen (a Rau family relative) who changed rig to yawl.

1954-1960: For sale at Abeking & Rasmussen yard

1961-1964: Jellrich Rassau (SKO Commodore), Alois Kranz and August Schulte

Purchased Anita while establishing a group of friends of the yacht. The initiatve was successful; SKO boom and at present more than four hundere emembers. – rig altered to yawl and interiors changed in a cruising version

1954 – 1960: ?? – She was for sale at Abeking & Rasmussen yard

1961 – 1964: Jellrich Rassau (Commodore of the SKO), Alois Kranz and August Schulte

Purchased Anita and established a group of “friends of the yacht”; the initiative was successful; gained more than four hundred members.

1965: Segelkameradschaft Ostsee (Yachting Camaraderie Ostsee) – home port: Gluckstadt

The members of the Club sail the yacht in blue waters including an Atlantic crossing in 1992 and visits to the Azores, Iceland, Canada, Madeira, Spitzberg, New York, etc. – the yacht is still without an engine but does have an electric generator

2011: A complete refit of the yacht was in progress at Nils Anderson & Jan Skibstrub shipyard in Gilleleje, Denmark. The restoration of the hull and of the frames, a new layout of the cockpit, new rigging and a new engine were completed for a total of $250.000. In a two years time, a new rigging conformal to the original is forecasted.

World Championship Results:

2001 in Cowes (America’s Cup Jubilee): sixteenth in the Classic division

2008 in Flensburg (Classic 12 Metre World Championship): seventh in the Vintage division.

2019 Anita is owned by Segelclub Rheingau e.v. represented by Thomas Seelbach. Anita is regularly raced with the North European 12mR fleet in the Baltic Sea, she took first place in the handicap scoring of the 2019 12mR European Championship.
