June 15, 2022, Dyvig Denmark: The Northern European 12mR fleet was represented by 10 entries at the Dyvig 12mR Cup 2022, scored by the Flensberger-Segal Club where 7 races were completed under perfect sailing conditions with wind averaging between 12-18 knots.
The Vintage series winner was reigning 12mR World Champion, Vim (US-15), skippered by Helmuth Hennig (DEN) who claimed the podium position with a low point score of 11. Second place went to Christoph Avenarius’ Nini Anker (N-15) with 16 points. After enjoying a complete refit, Magnus Holmberg’s (SWE) Northern Light (US-14) clearly “came to race” in her Baltic debut. If first impressions are any indication, she’ll be one to watch this season as she staked her place in the competitive fleet with two bullets in the first two races of the series where she finished third overall.
In Baltic 12mR handicap scoring, Johan Blach Petersen’s Kiwi Magic (KZ-7) — *who because she is rated a Grand Prix owes time to all of her Vintage 12mR sisters— finished second overall with 13 points, just after Vim (US-15).
