In Recognition of Dr. Alan “Robin” Gordon Wallace

Dear Members of ITMA,
It is with a heavy heart I must relay the news Dr. Robin Wallace, our good friend and Treasurer of ITMA for the past 39 years passed away on Saturday.
Aside from shepherding our 12 Metre Class for all those years Robin was highly active in almost facet of yacht racing in and around Newport, Rhode Island. Events from the early BOC Challenge through to Olympic trials and countless national and World Championships bore the benefit of an imprimatur from Robin Wallace. As a co-founder of Sail Newport “Rhode Island’s Public Sailing Center’, his legendary service and achievements have been honored on that waterfront with the well utilized “Dr. Robin Wallace Youth Sailing Center”.
His devotion and calmly administered counsel to ITMA officers and members since inception of the Association in 1982 is without precedence.
For ITMA Robin was ‘always there’. He will be missed.
